Detroit’s web design department to be overhauled by 2021

Detroit, Mich.

— The Detroit Red Wings have decided to overhaul their web design departments in 2021 to align more closely with the growth of their new arena.

The Red Wings announced Monday that the design departments of coach Jim Rutherford, goalie Henrik Zetterberg and players Gustav Nyquist and Nicklas Lidstrom will be combined into one division in the new team.

Rutherford will serve as director of the design department, while Nyquist will be the director of technology and the others will be senior designers.

The Wings, whose arena is scheduled to open in 2021, have a total of 14 employees who work directly on the new arena, which will be constructed by a joint venture between the Detroit Lions and Red Wings.
